Today is the deadline for the registration of candidates for the elections in the municipality of Kukes. Although we are a few hours away from the deadline, the Democratic Party of Lulzim Basha still does not have a name.
It is learned that during today's day he communicated with the chairman of the DP branch in Kukës, Arif Rexhmataj, regarding the possibility of having a candidate for Kukës or not.
He stated that they are examining all possible possibilities, while the decision will be taken this afternoon, after a leadership meeting there.
Rexhmataj also stated that the decision will be in favor of the democrats and not of personal interests, hinting that Basha's PD will not have a candidate.
Today, the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, held a meeting with Sali Berisha. The meeting started around 11:00 a.m. at the headquarters of Reestablishment.
This meeting between them comes a day after the Central Election Commission registered the coalition Together We Win for the elections in Kukësi, as well as after Berisha's failed attempts to enter the elections with the logo of the Democratic Party. KAS also rejected this request, while the case will also go to the Electoral College, but not many surprises are expected as on May 14.
