The deputy of DP, Gazment Bardhi, has declared that he is fighting the battle for the unification of the opposition and the end of the quarrel, for two years now, not for his personal interest, but to contribute to the overthrow of the government.
In an interview for the show "Now", on "Euronews Albania", he added that he was comfortable with Basha as the leader and himself as the number two of the party, but he is not interested in this before the opposition in Albania.
Bardhi also said that he will keep his word, that if Berisha runs for the head of the DP or for the prime minister, he will run away from politics.
" There is no ambition in this direction, at this moment. What I did I did not do for myself, I did not do for me. I have said that if Mr. Berisha will be the chairman of the Democratic Party and candidate for prime minister, I will no longer run for deputy.
I stand by this as a statement and I have explained this position with the fact that our offer will have to be a reliable offer for the citizens. If it was for convenience and a political solution, I would be very comfortable, Mr. Basha is the party leader, I am the number two of the party, whether I would fight for myself or for my mandate ", said Bardhi.
