The leader of the Democratic Party denounced the draft law on gender equality, which will be voted on this Thursday in Parliament.
Debates are expected on the draft law on gender equality, while before the start of the session, a protest was held in front of Parliament against this draft law.
The draft law will no longer have the "inclusive" concept of gender but will only recognize men and women. The Socialist Party filed 22 amendments removing the terms "inclusive" and "gender diversity", replacing them with clear wording in only two genders.
For Berisha, this bill is a work of George Soros, aimed at destroying the Albanian family.
"This law, based entirely on the ideology of the extreme left, overturns the country's Constitution. It overturns the country's codes. It overturns the positive heritage of thousands of years and penalizes, punishes all those who must protect the family and its values, its natural, biological binary. It penalizes the laws, the country's Constitution, the articles of the family. It penalizes and overturns the articles of freedom of belief. The articles of freedom of thought and expression. De facto, in the name of approximation with European directives, which is also the greatest deception, the law rapidly leads towards totalitarianism. This law, for Albanians, I guarantee that it is identical and the same as the law that declared Albania an atheist state in the country's worst Constitution, the one of 1974", said Berisha.
He considered the gender equality bill as part of a "post-Marxist doctrine" that, according to him, aims to destroy the family as the fundamental cell of society.
"A law of post-Marxist doctrine, the most inhuman doctrine circulating in the world today, which differs from that of Marx because it is based on private property, while this one goes further, because it is based on the destruction of the family as a cellular basis," said Berisha.
The DP leader accused the draft law of violating constitutional articles that protect freedom of belief and expression, calling it a step towards totalitarianism. According to Berisha, the law does not openly express this intention, but through terms such as “gender with multiple affiliations,” it hands over religious texts to censorship and the state.
"It penalizes the laws, the country's constitution, the articles of the family; it penalizes, overturns the articles of freedom of belief, the articles of freedom of thought and expression, de facto in the name of approximation with European directives, which is the greatest deception. The law leads to the speed of totalitarianism. This law is identical and the same as the one that declared Albania an atheist state in the worst constitution on the planet in 1974. The law does not express this in writing.
But in terms of gender with multiple affiliations, the law completely hands over the Quran to censorship and the state, and none of the moral leaders of religious faiths will be able to read them as they are, because they will be considered to be discriminating. But the law punishes parents, who can be penalized if they want their son born to grow up as a boy. They will be punished, because in fact gender identity will no longer be determined by nature and biology, but by school and the state. In all the country's codes, the claim that this is an approximation to the EU is a deception. The European directives do not mention gender with wide diversity, or multiple gender affiliations, in any line. They are all deceptions in the name of an ideology, the monster of which is George Soros," said Berisha.
