Jorida Tabaku seems to have started to maintain a much different profile from all the others in the PD. Focusing on the protest, Tabaku said that the February 20 protest, in which she was a participant, was a way to channel dissatisfaction with the government.
However, according to her, filling the squares has never been a problem for PD, but the democrats should be on the ground and offer a governing alternative.
" I have not been absent from any protest of the opposition or DP. Protest is a very good way to channel what we feel towards the government. My concern has been what happens the day after the protest. PD does not have a problem filling the squares, we must definitely be on the ground and provide a governing alternative ", said Tabaku.
As for her position within the ranks of the Democrats, she stated that she is part of the PD parliamentary group and has always been open to unification, but the latter must first happen at the base.
" I am part of the PD parliamentary group, but I asked for a merger 3 years ago, even before the local elections. This division that happened in the parliamentary group, also happened at the base and it is difficult to tell these citizens to unite since we also united. I have supported the idea of the Confederation as a form of unification of the opposition ", said Tabaku.
Focusing on electoral reform and opposition action in Parliament, Tabaku said that the electoral system today favors coalitions. He also gave a blow to Berisha, saying that PD does not have and did not have a battle with SPAK and should not have one. Tabaku demanded an end to the chaos in the Assembly.
" I am patiently waiting to speak in the floor of the Assembly, because the citizens miss talking about what is happening. Closing sessions for a few minutes and passing laws without debate is the lowest level of parliamentarism. I am sure that the majority would do the same thing they did with the laws, but we would observe the process ", she said among others.
