The head of PDIU, Shpëtim Idrizi, spoke to the media after meeting with President Bajram Begaj about the consultations on setting the date of the next parliamentary elections in 2025.
Idrizi did not state a fixed date, unlike the other small parties that proposed the date of May 4, but said that the last two Sundays allowed by the Constitution for the holding of elections, ie May 4 and 11 respectively, are more suitable.
He said that he expressed his concern to the President that before setting the date of the elections, it will have to be taken into account that the modalities for the vote of immigrants have not yet been determined and that they are awaiting the decision of the Constitutional Court on the lawsuit filed by the small parties for closing lists with 1/3.
" We had a constructive discussion with the president about the date of the elections, which is already a tradition. The dates are known, more time is needed for the voting of immigrants, there is still no agreement in the regulatory system about the modalities and procedures, there must be a time reasoned. This has always been provocative of the major parties, and the agreement on the electoral code was made between them. On that day, Albanians choose, all parties are equal.

Consultations with representatives of the Freedom Party will take place on Thursday, November 21, while with the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party, on November 25.
