Taulant Balla has sued former Prime Minister Sali Berisha for defamation and insult, following a public statement in which the latter claims that Balla intervened in the release of Mario Çela from prison.
The head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, has filed a defamation lawsuit against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, following the latter's public statements regarding a criminal case.
According to the information made public, Balla accuses Berisha of the criminal offenses of "Public Defamation" and "Insult".
The lawsuit has been registered with the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC), where a draw is expected to be held soon to determine the judge who will hear the case.
The lawsuit is related to a post made by Sali Berisha, in which he claims that Taulant Balla influenced the release from prison of Mario Çela, who is mentioned as Suel Çela's brother.

The clashes between Berisha and Balla are not new and have often been accompanied by mutual accusations in public and on social networks.
