Parliament restarts on Monday! New session with old problems, the first

The Assembly of Albania will start work on September 2. The holidays for the MPs are over and a new session will start, not strong and calm, with maximum commitment from the political parties.

On Monday, it is planned to hold a conference of mayors to determine the work calendar.

This meeting will be chaired by the new Speaker of the Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, who has officially taken office. During the weekend, the opposition is expected to decide on the meeting of the parliamentary group led by Gazmend Bardhi, where the MPs will receive directives for their behavior during the new session.

On Monday (September 1), Niko Peleshi is expected to hold the first meeting with the socialist deputies, as the group's leader.

The Xhaçka case is an important file that has remained "hostage" of the parliamentary procedure for more than 2 years. For the latter, the commitment has been great and will return once again at the beginning of the session, subjecting for the third time to the vote of the deputies who must decide whether or not to take her mandate to the Constitutional Court for review.

From the urgent meeting of the Legislation Council, held on August 27, where Xhaçka's mandate was discussed, it was proved that the socialist majority and the opposition are inclined to agree.

The Legislation Council decided that the saga of Olta Xhaçka's mandate will continue in the session of September 12 in parliament.
