Prime Minister Edi Rama appeared at a press conference together with the representative of the EU, Josep Borrell, after the meeting they had in Brussels.
Rama first said that he feels good when he hears good words about the country's process, as a result of the reforms. Further, the prime minister added that he and Borrell also discussed the situation in the north, the danger it may cause in the Region and the possibility to stop it as soon as possible.
Rama stated that the conference between Kurti and Vucic should include as many important EU and US leaders as possible, and the parties should not be allowed to leave the conference without an agreement, as according to him, if they do not achieve this, the consequences will weigh on we all.
"The conversation we had together was a very useful moment. It was a pleasure to speak with the EC president before. Of course, this conversation was encouraging. It's good when you hear good words about the work and reforms we are doing .
We are ready in time to take the next step. It was a pleasure to share common opinions on something very important, which concerns the security of the Region. We are a Region that has suffered a lot and there can be no other disadvantage and in this Region the events are closely connected and we cannot only look at our home, without considering what is happening with the neighbors and the devastating consequences that it may have only for Serbia and Kosovo.
Thank you for providing evidence that patience has been lost for EU member states and raising concerns. I hope very much that the conference that will take place with the leaders of the two parties will attract a lot of attention and bring leaders from the EU and the US countries and not allow them to leave the conference without reaching a common agreement. Because if they don't achieve this, the consequences will weigh on all of us.
I am very happy that we managed to free the policemen and now it is time to make immediate interventions so that the situation does not escalate. We are committed to working with allies to prevent this situation from damaging the Region, as we have many other things to do. We have done a lot and we cannot allow this to be destroyed by an absurd development based on such absurd claims", said Rama.
