Prime Minister Edi Rama has advised his counterpart Albin Kurti to get out of the trap of the "cat and mouse" game with Serbia.
Speaking from the international table for the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Kosovo, the head of the Albanian government said that Pristina risks being left without friends if it uses foreign policy to get votes inside the country.
"Today we are in a process where the approach of foreign policy as internal policy and the use of communication platforms abroad as a tribune to get votes here is deepening more and more and in a disturbing way. This can definitely be electorally successful, but it leaves Kosovo with less and less trust from its international friends and allies", said Rama.
According to him, "If Kosovo were to come out of this cat and mouse game on the table with Serbia and with a team of unity, it would turn to the EU saying "we don't want to talk to Serbia anymore because we have nothing to talk about with Serbia, we are here to talk with the EU, to fulfill all obligations as Kosovo in the context of international standards and to get closer to you", then what Serbia does is their business. This cat-and-mouse confrontation on the table, the meetings to be locked inside for hours and to come out after the meeting and say how strong I stood to the other, these lead nowhere".
