The appointment of the new director of the State Police has caused a strong clash in the Parliament, where the debate was initiated by the opposition and followed by the reaction of the Minister of Interior.
Democratic Party MP Klevis Balliu took the floor first and attacked Skënder Hita's appointment, describing it as a predetermined and politically influenced decision.
" We knew three days ago that Skënder Hita would be appointed, today another crime was only made official. In Balluk's file it is said that there were life threats against witnesses from crime exponents. In the file of this lady, who today appoints the police director, she takes over the entire Ministry of Interior ," he said.
After him, Interior Minister Besford Lamallari reacted, defending the appointment and attacking the opposition's position.
" Unfortunately, whoever comes must take into account the accusations and mud of the opposition. The police belong to the Albanian state and should be given support and let them prove it with work that serves the state. Mr. Hita is a career officer, he has been a leader in several districts, where he has stood out for professionalism, integrity and dedication and I am happy that his role has stood out. Shame on you, in the next session you will receive an answer ," declared Lamallari.
During the reply, the minister personally addressed the Democratic MP: " The MP in question, since being called a beauty, has not been participating in this conversation anymore ."
Then Balliu reacted: " If you didn't understand, I said that what you learned today I learned 3 days ago, because you are a chair holder, not a minister. You don't know where the donkey is tied. You can't talk, because you jump, sleep, eat and run away when you are told. You should shut up and listen ."
