Sali Berisha spoke openly about the divisions within the Democratic Party during a meeting with leaders and political coordinators. He accused some members of collaborating with the Socialist Party and betraying the party.
"No one should think that by serving the socialists they will be part of us. There are people who sell themselves and make bargains, but the democrats are stronger," said Berisha.
According to him, a former member campaigned for Tom Doshi's candidate and then complained about being removed from the list. He also mentioned another case, where a representative voted for Mayor Emiriana Sako's budget. Regarding these cases, Berisha said that these people have no place in the DP.
He stated that anyone who works for the Socialists cannot be part of the party. According to him, there are people who "sell themselves out and make bargains," but emphasized that the Democrats are stronger than these cases.
At the meeting, Berisha demanded more control over the party's organization. He focused on the distribution of documents and demanded that the membership be provided with them regularly.
Regarding political action, Berisha said that the opposition has only one way to be heard: protest and revolt.
"In the previous meeting, we discussed with you the distribution of documents. You must control this process, so that the membership is provided with documents. The opposition must do everything to be heard. In order for us to be heard before the citizens and the international community, we have only one way, the protest and the revolt. Protests, the revolts, have had positive effects. Edi Rama made his own decisions with which he challenged the Albanians, humiliated them. It reaches high levels, to question our will, our sensitivity to corruption. It goes so far as to present it as the culture of the Albanian. Why? Because Edi Rama does not remove the immunity of Belinda Balluku. We must be heard strongly, to continue our battle, until the realization of the mission we have. Memberships must be the motto of this process. We welcome any value, all citizens who do not agree with this situation. The moments of the departure of those who in the electoral campaign have betrayed the ideals of the democrats and worked for the majority of the crime. Let no one think that serving the socialists will be in our midst, no!
The lady who was honored until yesterday, campaigns for Tom Doshi's candidate, then complains to the media that; they removed me from the list! No lady, leave on your own. Or the other one who voted for Sako's budget and then shouts; they punished me because I waited for this or that. We are not impressed. There is a group of people who are trampled, bought and bargained for, but the Democrats are more powerful. If some time ago we had problems, today we are in the last mile. No one, nothing will stop us from fulfilling our mission", said Berisha.
