Since the publication of the open lists, factions and dissatisfaction have begun in the Socialist Party.
Those seen as socialist senators have been placed on the open lists, and the battle for a mandate is the strongest since the majoritarian system of 2005.
Such is the case of MP Erion Braçe, who for the first time risks being left out of parliament.
This is due to the fact that Erion Braçe has been moved from the Fier district, which had had connections with the area for years, to a completely new district for him.
This forced and unwanted move by Braça risks preventing him from securing a future mandate in the Albanian parliament in the May 11 elections.
It is enough to do a simple calculation. In Tirana there are 37 mandates, of which the SP at best gets 20 mandates. Of these, 12 remain on the closed list and 8 on the open list.
For the 8 candidates on the open list, 5 men will be the winners, while the other 3 mandates will be women from the gender quotas.
In the Tirana race, there are 22 male candidates for a maximum of 5 parliamentary positions. And this is one of the reasons why Erion Braçe publishes farewell statuses every day, as the battle for him is almost impossible.
"Everything new starts with respect! On Monday, the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group has its last meeting before the new political, parliamentary elections; The processes that precede the elections have brought about the fact that some of my colleagues - SP MPs - will not run and will no longer be MPs;
I have lived with them, I have fought with them, I have won with them, we have rejoiced and grieved over each other's events, I have lived with them; everything new starts from respect for them and for any socialist who voted for them, anyone else who made them winners;
So I want to thank them for everything they have given and done, to express my gratitude for their correctness throughout this time - they have been the strength of the SP government for four years together!
I want to start my thanks with my colleagues from the Fier district, Petro, Lindita, Baftjari, Ismet, Tatjana, Mirela, Bujar, heavily weighted by the people with almost 24 thousand personal votes;

I want to thank my colleagues on the Economy Committee, the good, peaceful and ladylike Hope, the impetuous and stubborn Spring in its principles and professionalism, Ilir Topi and Ilir Metajn - uncompromising men where calm and severity go together;
Further;
I would like to thank my colleagues in Law, Edin, Gerten, Klevis, before whom I appeared often and have always received support;
Further once again;
I want to thank my colleagues from Agriculture, Laert and Baftjar, Ismet, from you I also received support for agricultural initiatives, regardless of how others voted in the end; Here, I want to endlessly thank a strong woman - Professor Luljeta Bozo, the woman who every time I saw her - a symbol of strength and determination, calmness and wisdom, I learned what I had to do better until the end;
Further still;
I want to thank three good friends;
Nasip, whose calmness and determination I recognized early on, whose honor and dignity I faced both in the race and in government - me as an opposition member, and now together there in the Assembly hall; General Kollçak, whom I knew in the most difficult situation so far - the Thumana Earthquake, where he was everywhere to help people; Paulini, the good mountaineer, the friend of many battles won like no other...
In the end;
I want to thank all my other colleagues, good and capable men and women, never a problem for their group and communities, the real and guaranteeing power - not just numerical - of a majority that has so strongly supported its government; in extreme and difficult conditions. I am humbly grateful to you for everything you were - never a problem either in the group or in the community, for everything you did in the group and community, for everything you gave everywhere; you have done well and be proud of this too! I wish you all the best", writes Braçe.
