As citizens have been protesting every evening in Tirana for 17 days and demanding his resignation, Edi Rama seems to have been unable to escape his opponents even during his visit to Germany.
The Albanian Prime Minister has been confronted by Albanian protesters in Berlin, where he had traveled to attend the Annual Conference of the Eastern Bloc Commission.
The published footage shows the moment when Rama leaves the event and heads towards his vehicle, while facing shouts and accusations from the protesters present.
" Edi Rama, you traitor, resign as soon as possible ," protesters can be heard shouting.
Among them were other calls related to the protest taking place in Albania.
"Shame", "Cancel the project", "Cancel the law", were some of the messages addressed to the prime minister as he left the event.
The footage shows that Rama did not stop to communicate with the protesters. He waved to them and then got into the vehicle that was waiting for him outside the building.
The incident comes at a time when the protest launched for Zvërnec has entered its 17th day and has transformed into a broader movement against the government and the political class. While citizens continue to hold rallies and marches in Tirana, it seems that the echo of the protest is accompanying the prime minister outside the borders of Albania.
