The co-chairman of the Electoral Reform Commission, Enkelejd Alibeaj, has proposed that the voting be extended over a period of two days, even if the vote of immigrants is included.
At the Electoral Reform Commission, where Ilirjan Celibashi was also present, Alibeaj said that extending the voting to two days would provide more convenience.
"My question was how much effect does it have on your administration of people's resources if there was a vote in two days regarding electronic equipment, would it give you a convenience", Alibeaj addressed Celibash.
This caused reactions and laughter from Damian Gjiknuri, who ironically said "your doors are being broken by the voters" , while emphasizing that this has more costs.
Meanwhile, Celibashi's proposal was that the voting process be done on Saturday and not Sunday.
Excerpts from the discussion:
Celibashi: Regarding the voting process in two days. I don't know, I can give a personal opinion it might be useful. What I would prefer for myself, and I have a suggestion, is to vote on Saturday and leave Sunday as a day off. But if you think it is useful to extend it to Sunday, I don't know.
Alibeaj: My question was how much effect does it have on your administration of human resources if there was a vote in two days regarding electronic equipment, would it give you a comfort?
Gjiknuri: It would increase the costs, man..
Celibashi: The thought was that if we apply electronic voting one day it was enough. It would create more time wastage if we spread it over two days. But for the day, I would prefer Saturday and not Sunday.
Alibeaj: You can vote even on Monday! Two days makes sense! The logical sense is both for the vote inside Albania and abroad
Gjiknuri: These Mr. Celibashi have so many voters that... your doors are being broken by voters.
Alibeaj: Voting in two days gives convenience in my opinion to both those in Albania and those abroad.
