The lawyer, Romeo Kara, has warned that former Prime Minister Sali Berisha may be extradited to the USA.
Speaking in an interview for "SOT" newspaper, he stated that the June 2021 Biden amendment is actually an execution order for cases of major corruption, when other means do not work.
According to the lawyer Kara, it remains to be seen how efficient the justice system will be in the already started confrontation with Berisha. He says that what is clearly distinguishable is that Berisha has lost a lot of ground within his party and is almost isolated from the international factor, without talking about the lack of morals and political spirit that characterizes Reestablishment.
For former president Ilir Meta, Romeo Kara warns of "black days". Also, he said that the greatest probability is that Ilir Meta will be taken as a defendant for the "CEZ-DIA" case.
According to him, even the abandonment of the protest by Meta-Kryemadhi is seen as an abandonment that serves only their interests, of avoiding drowning by being on a ship with Berisha and abandoning him to his fate, also wanting to give a message of separation from him and compromise towards the international factor.
- Mr. Kara, how do you comment on the February 20 protest? Could it be that the real goal of Sali Berisha and "Foltor" was to show that they are the real PD and want to steal the seal, or did he do it to show the Americans that he has strength, as he is afraid of any possible extradition?
Sali Berisha already has only one problem: that he and his family do not face justice. Every political movement of his is only a function of this non-confrontation, regardless of what date it is made or with what political rhetoric it is covered. He knows very well that he has only one political card in his hand, that of political instability, which he has been implementing for a long time, such as in the case of Beler's candidacy or the installation of violence in the parliament.
In every accusation he raises against the government and the justice system, his anti-Americanism is clearly read, which since his "Non-Grata" declaration by the State Department has come out almost openly and has become the ideological line of the Re-establishment. Berisha is clearly applying his already confirmed principle: after me, let it be done. Therefore, today we have a Berisha who is trying to hold a part of the DP hostage, through an ordeal of court proceedings, of which it is very unlikely that he will restore the lost stamp of the DP. Is Berisha afraid of any extradition, you ask?

- How do you see the abandonment of the protest by Ilir Meta and Kryemadhi?
Albanian politics has long gone off the rails of law and morality, installing only the political market as its engine. Alliances have generally been founded only on petty interests and as such fall apart as soon as those interests are affected. This is how I see the abandonment of Meta Kryemadhi, as an abandonment that serves only their interests, of avoiding drowning by being on a ship with Berisha and abandoning him to his fate, also wanting to give a message of separation from him and the compromise against the international factor. It's a typical alla Meta move, possessing somewhat of a calculating ability in these cases.
- You are among the people who reported Ilir Meta to SPAK. What is happening with the "CEZ-DIA" file and is Meta at risk of being charged?
I believe that the investigations related to that case will be closed and the greatest probability is that Ilir Meta will be charged. However, we will have to wait a little longer.
-Lulzim Basha has recently promised that he will request the opening of files for the discovery of Soviet KGB and Yugoslav UDB agents? Do you think these files are still there, since a SHISH document states that Bashkim Gazidede took with him and disappeared a list of UDB agents? Do the Americans have all these records?
To my knowledge, many such files have been destroyed, but there is a possibility to find them again. Also quite a few of them should be in the archives. I believe that Basha knows something because he mentioned this issue. He gave a meaningful message when he declared that: PD has failed for 30 years to remove security spies from politics.
In the case of the KGB and UDB spies, not only DP, but the entire policy has failed, making us understand that not punishing the traitors of the country is not only a failure, but above all a fault with incalculable consequences. It is understood to whom this message of Basha is mainly addressed, and I would say that: the krushkia looks like it is not made. When the spy notebooks are opened, our eyes will see them.
-Sali Berisha, a dangerous man who risks spoiling the evidence, has violated the court's decision repeatedly", this is what the GJKKO Appeal decision says. What is the former prime minister capable of doing to escape from prison?
Berisha does what he can for power and he has tried this, while for survival he is showing that he will do the impossible. Its limit in this regard is only human imagination. Berisha has no scruples and no limit. He has allowed himself everything and moreover he never reflects or turns the finger away from himself. Aware of what he has done, he is preparing for his final act, the scenario of which is surely a tragedy, but which hopefully will not be staged and create the consequences he dreams of.
- Should a more serious measure be taken against him by justice?
I hope, like a large part of this people, that he gets what he deserves: exemplary punishment for him and his entire entourage, as one of the biggest criminal organizations this country has ever known, confiscation of up to pennies in property of them, banning them for life to work in state bodies as well as disbanding by law this organization hidden under the skin of political parties. After this happens, surely the sun of hope, peace and prosperity will rise in Albania./Gazeta SOT
