After Rei Meta's arrest, in his testimony, he maintains the same attitude, telling the same version of the event.
According to police sources, Meta said that there was no motive to kill him as they met by chance in the internet center, according to him, as both were going to print some documents. Rei Meta also reports that the victim, Armando Meshau, cursed him first and he hit him when the conflict escalated.
Meta also claims that he struck in self-defense as he claims that the 55-year-old lost his life from hitting the ground, or some internet cafe furniture, at the moment when he fell to the ground as a result of the punches. According to him, the death of the 55-year-old is claimed to be accidental.
