Analyst Fatos Lubonja commented on the situation in the country, saying that the project of the new tower behind the Opera and Ballet Theater is a result of Prime Minister Rama's "one palace, one vote" policy.
Regarding the hypotheses that the opposition is also involved in this project, Lubonja said that at the time when the opposition was stronger, there was stronger control for such cases.
He also stated that the seizure of the Tirana incinerator is "the biggest blow to the government this year as it is the most investigated and flagrant crime".
"When Berisha was in power during the 90s, he was a businessman who bought the land between the Bank and the National Museum. He made the project of a tower there and to convince the public opinion and he came to some well-known figures of the opinion, where he also came to me and Edi Rama at that time. What we both told him was that how is it possible that this tower here will take the crown of Tirana. We didn't sign him for that reason. Ironically, this tower is called the mountain of Tirana. Instead of seeing the mountains of Tirana, this one builds mountains for us since then. He who started the one palace one vote policy has filled it with towers.
Here we have a betrayal and corruption of intellectuals that has been built by destroying what is left of this country.
What is unfortunate is not who has ridden this horse, but how long some people within that party will continue to support him. History has shown that the oligarchs paid from both sides when they built. The problem is that if we see when there were 2-3 parties that controlled each other, there was a little more control.
