The US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, is giving her farewell conference today. During her speech, Kim said that she has fulfilled her 3 goals, in democracy, defense and business.
" During these 3 years, I had the honor to represent the president in Albania. As a young ambassador eager to highlight the special bond between Albania and the USA, I fulfilled my mission. During this mission, I am grateful that I got to know this country, visited its 61 municipalities and, like any ambassador, made my contribution to democracy, defense and business. Albania has made great progress, especially in justice, which gave it the opportunity to officially open negotiations for the EU ," says Yuri Kim.
American Ambassador Yuri Kim, in a media conference from the American Embassy, stated that the US is determined to support Albania's progress.
She also emphasized that the country has undertaken important reforms, particularly in the judiciary, for which she emphasized that there were positive results, although she added that there is still a lot of work to be done.
" Albania has undertaken difficult reforms, especially in justice. It is paying off. Although there is a lot of work to be done. We will never stop supporting Albania, as we have strengthened democracy in the country. Our defense cooperation has brought good results", said American Ambassador Kim, adding: "The US has provided 50 million dollars for cyber defense, adding that this is the largest package ever offered" - said Kim, among other things .
