Chief Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi said that the government has not yet announced the vacancy for the Municipality of Kukës after the dismissal of Safet Gjic. He states that this eliminates the possibility of elections being held on the same day as the municipality of Rrogozhinë and added that there will be an election process from scratch for the municipality of Kukës.
"For Kukës, there is no deadline regarding the notification by the Council of Ministers for the creation of a vacancy. I find it difficult to combine the dates as every day that goes by removes the possibility of the election taking place on the same date. If we talk about Rrogozhina, we will have the same candidates, the same electoral subjects. While in the case of Kukës, we will have an election process from scratch, with new candidates, a new list of voters", said Celibashi.
As for Rrogozhina, the CEC will use the maximum time available to organize the elections.
"We will have to wait for the last review in the Electoral College for Kuçova. If the College will decide within this week on this matter, we would prefer to take a decision at the beginning of next week, having July 23 as a possible date, as a suitable date also in terms of the time available to carry out the elections ", he declared.
