The draft declaration proposed by Shpëtim Idrizi's PDIU has received the agreement in principle of the socialists and democrats to vote for it, but in the ranks of the latter, there were also voices against it.
Top Channel has learned that in the closed-door meeting held today (Wednesday), there were three MPs Tritan Shehu, Luan Baçi and Bujar Leskaj who proposed that the draft declaration should not receive a vote in favor of the Democrats.
" We should not vote for this draft declaration, as in the opinion we can be considered as an appendage of the government ", the three MPs are said to have said.
On the other hand, the chairman of the parliamentary group of the DP, Gazment Bardhi, has defended the position that the draft declaration should receive a vote in favor of the democrats since this is a national issue.
Contacted by Top Channel, Tritan Shehu says that the problem of the law of war was exhausted by the Treaty of Friendship between the two countries, which, according to the democrat, was allowed to be abolished by Prime Minister Rama who did not ask for the renewal of the document.
" I was the Minister of Foreign Affairs and I have always considered that issue a senseless atavism. Especially after the entry into force of the Treaty of Friendship, which is the most important act in the history of our two countries and which had effects on every other act, including the so-called law of war. Unfortunately, currently that important treaty has been repealed, because it has passed its terms. Rama let that essential act be repealed without asking for its renewal or repetition, as required in Article 20. Thus intentionally creating a vacuum, artificial problems, and damaging the strategic relations between Albania and Greece ", said Shehu.
According to him, " For us, that law of war does not exist. If someone in Athens keeps it in some drawer, it is a matter for him and those who are competent to declare its non-existence. We do not have to negotiate or compromise for something that is zero. This is my position in general, so I agree with any call in this direction, even to someone who calls it active in Greece. Regarding the statement, I had remarks on the issues of its reference during the argument and not on the essence .
While Luan Baçi had another explanation for his attitude.
" When the resolutions are drawn up and must be voted on by both sides, they must be drawn up by both sides, not one side drafts it as it wants and we must vote, the resolution drawn up by the majority. So it must be drafted jointly and passed to the relevant commission, approved by both parties in advance and definitely voted on by both parties! I believe this is the right, so I disputed the way it is being processed and that the deputies should be informed in advance about the text and agree with it and then vote. So I agree and I will vote for it, but the way the majority is proceeding is not right! ". / Top channel
