The European Union has not been satisfied at all with the way the Special Prosecutor's Office is proceeding. Although there have been some arrests, for Brussels they are nothing with the corruption bosses at the head of the state.
A few days ago, the meetings of the sreeaning process between Albania and the EU were closed, a process that examined whether or not our laws are in line with the EU. "Pamphlet" has provided the report and the EU is looking for other interventions. Our laws are partially in line with Brussels and concrete results are also required in the fight against corruption.
" Albania must increase the coherence of the legal and institutional framework for the prevention of corruption and the integrity of public officials, which is comprehensive, but too complex, especially with regard to high-level officials," the report states .
There, a long chapter was dedicated to SPAK, where there was no lack of criticism. First, the EU urgently requests that the surveillance and monitoring of prosecutors begin. When the reform started, it was said that the prosecutors should be under monitoring, but apparently this is not happening.
" The track record of successful investigations, indictments and final convictions for corruption continues to be quite limited, especially in dealing with high-level corruption. Some final convictions for corruption charges against senior officials are Albanian, but so far no convictions refer to acts of corruption classified as serious crimes. There is a discrepancy between the number of investigations and the number of final convictions. Increasing the number of final convictions of high-level officials must remain an important priority to further address the culture of impunity ," the report states.

Përdorimi sistematik i hetimeve financiare dhe konfiskimeve të aseteve janë përmirësuar, megjithatë ato mbeten shumë të kufizuara në fushëveprim.
