The former chief democrat Lulzim Basha, who is competing again today for the new head of the DP, has cast his vote.
As he saluted with two fingers, Basha voted in the offices of branch no. 8.
During his speech, Basha said that this day is special due to the circumstances, while he called on the democrats to vote.
"I express my gratitude to the thousands of democrats who went to the ballot boxes on this day with special meaning and due to the unique circumstances for the DP. Unique because we have faced challenges like no other.
Because those thousands of democrats who turn to the ballot boxes today have faced attacks from the most unworthy and undeserving, great injustices.
But they continue to stand not for themselves, not for their personal fortunes, but for the causes and values that unite them in this political family at the service of Albanians," Basha told the media.
Although the National Council of the Democratic Party called online by Gazment Bardhi decided with 245 votes in favor of canceling the elections for the new head of the Democratic Party, Basha's group announced that the process will take place. 25 thousand members of the Democratic Party have been called to vote for the leader of this political force. In the race are Lulzim Basha and Gjergj Hani.
Voting centers are opened at 08:00 and close at 19:00. Voters are required to have a means of identification and a DP membership card. The process of counting votes will begin no later than 30 minutes after the closing of the voting process.
