Democratic Party official Dorian Teliti revealed the behind-the-scenes action taken by IKMT, on the orders of Prime Minister Edi Rama, to demolish buildings built without permits in Theth.
According to Telit, with the entry into force of the "Mountains Package", for which calls for applications were officially opened today, Thethi will end up in the hands of strategic investors, or oligarchs connected to the government.
"Today the 'Mountains Package' came into force and apparently in the minds of the government officials, the prime minister or someone else, we will now come up with an application under the new 'Mountains Package' law, one or several strategic investors, who will replace these buildings that have already been demolished, with new buildings, perhaps more beautiful from the eye's point of view, but it is only a replacement and decision-making based on non-developmental interests," Teliti said on A2 CNN.
Confronted by moderator Andrea Danglli with the finding that the residents of Theth have been owners of these lands for centuries now, Teliti explained that anyone who enjoys the status of strategic investor can acquire the property through procedures that include nationalization and compensation.
"They will be built there, because the 'Mountain Package' together with the strategic investment law, these people know very well that it will expropriate. The 'Mountain Package' is intertwined with the Strategic Investment Law. The moment the Strategic Investor comes with his status, he takes your land, mine, your father's property, that you and your great-grandfather have had for three centuries. He takes it, nationalizes it, gives you compensation and the work continues. Time will tell and unfortunately time has proven us right ," explained Teliti.
