Albin Kurti resigns as Prime Minister of Kosovo, before being sworn in as an MP;

The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, has resigned from the post of Prime Minister so that he can be sworn in as a member of the ninth legislature.

Other members of the incumbent Government of Kosovo, who were elected MPs in the February 9 elections, have also resigned.

Based on the law, those who win the mandate as MPs and if they are part of the Government of Kosovo, i.e. have an executive position such as: Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister or even Deputy Minister, must resign from their government positions. This is because according to the rules, they cannot be MPs and part of the executive at the same time.
