The Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, has reacted harshly to the two-phase plan of the USA and the EU for harsh sanctions against Kosovo in the event of an escalation of the situation in the North.
In reference to this issue, Murat said that: "It would be necessary to discuss what sanctions would be imposed on Serbia - and not on Kosovo - due to the violations that have been made to the agreements in succession. What should have worried us is what sanctions should be imposed on the Serbian state."
Focusing on the measures that include the possibility of declaring Albin Kurti and Interior Minister Xelal Sveçla, "non grata", Murati said that: "I am not aware of such a list nor of the credibility of such lists."
Today, the media reported that the USA and the EU are considering sanctions in two phases against Kosovo in the event that Kosovo does not fulfill its obligations and if the situation in the north of the country is not de-escalated.
This includes sanctions against Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Interior Minister Xelal Sveçla, according to an internal text of the American Government, reports Express.
