PDK MP Xhavit Haliti has spoken about the Kosovo-Serbia talks as well as the situation in the north of the country.
Invited to News24, Haliti stated that neither Kurti nor Vucic are interested in an agreement and that the contradictions are unnecessary when it is known that Kosovo is obliged to implement it. According to him, Kurti should be more flexible.
"I believe that the two parties are not interested in reaching the agreement they committed to in Ohrid and the agreements they committed to.
Contradictions are unnecessary. Mr. Kurti should not oppose so much a decision that he is obliged to implement.
I do not believe that there is an organized strike in such a variant (What Kurti says). Perhaps they have spoiled his desire for what Kurti is asking for de facto recognition of Kosovo. The agreement has several points that need to be agreed upon. Kurti should be more flexible. I think there should be other measures", said Haliti.
The deputy of PDK added further that Kosovo should not remain guilty for the non-implementation of the agreement.
"From the information I have, I believe that he has not discussed the process with anyone. We should never be held guilty of non-implementation of the agreement. Kosovo is not endangered by anyone because Serbia does not have the courage to cross the border for invasive actions. If this is the case, why should Kosovo become an obstacle to the implementation of the agreements it has agreed to?
There is no need for Mr. Kurti and neither Vucic to lead the project, the agreement is ready. I think that the acceptable option that has been accepted by the international community is that the association should not be in conflict with the Constitution of Kosovo. This is what the Constitutional Court has objected to for those errors in the Brussels agreement, demanding that the text be improved", declared the deputy of PDK.
As for Rama's positions, Haliti said that Albania's policy has always been and should always remain with Kosovo's policies.
"In the sense not to approve everything from Kosovo, but the politics of Kosovo and Albania should be one. Any step taken of one without the other is wrong. Kosovo needs further support from Albania. If we don't have the support of Albania, then where can we find it", he said.
Regarding the situation in the north of Kosovo, Haliti declared that the north of Kosovo is a ticking bomb, perhaps even earlier due to the mistakes of the policies in Kosovo. "Different forces of Serbian services have gone. They have filled the north of Kosovo with weapons, with the idea that maybe the developments in Ukraine and other developments in Kosovo could bring about a clash so that the north of Kosovo would be divided", he said .
