Security expert Drizan Shala has warned of tensions in the north of Kosovo after the failure of the Kurti-Vucic talks in Brussels.
Shala said that the Serbian president will try to visit Grashanica in Kosovo, without obtaining permission from the Kosovar authorities, and he will not be played. According to the expert, Vucic's ban will bring back tensions and international intervention.
"Right now, the issues in the north of Kosovo are a chess game, actions, counter-actions, steps that must be taken in a legitimate way. On the part of Kosovo's institutions, steps are now being taken, because the professional part must be separated from the political part.
We can say that the police and other security mechanisms are now positioned and are clear about the fight against organized crime and other criminal activities, but at the same time, on the other side of the political level, attempts are being made to fulfill the mission of the institutions' mandates. security to wear a political cloak.
On this basis, from the statements made by the Serbian side, they are precisely on the trend of what the Kosovo government is trying to play on the association, to exert certain pressures. Tensions are expected to continue, because now the narrative that was throughout the years 2021-2022 has returned.
