The failure of the meeting in Brussels, Kurti accuses the EU: Borrell and Lajcak
Albin Kurti

Prime Minister Albin Kurti has accused the representatives for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak and Josep Borrell, of taking the side of Serbia in the dialogue process.

Kurti says that Serbia has not brought any new proposals for dialogue for a long time and Lajcak will have to give an account. Kurti said that in the trilateral meeting, a scenario that Lajçak had designed long ago was exposed.

He said that after he proposed a plan worked out by Kosovo, the president of Serbia and Miroslav Lajcak reacted with the same opinion and with the same coordinated disregard. Both, according to him, said that this plan is very unrealistic.

" September 14 had a mediator's position against Kosovo and against the basic agreement in particular. They have gone far with the future of Kosovo. In the situation we are in can not be distorted in my judgment. Either the basic agreement will be implemented in its entirety or we cannot implement only what Serbia wants, this logic is dead, " said Kurti.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo emphasized that in Brussels, in the meeting with Vucic, with the presence of EU mediators, he was faced with a scenario.

"At the trilateral meeting, I was exposed in front of a scholar whom Mr. Lajcak seemed to have designed it long ago. The President of Serbia and Miroslav Lajcak reacted with the same opinion and with the same coordinated disregard. Both said that this plan is very unrealistic. At the first meeting, I was asked to move immediately to a process of negotiating the charter set out in Article 7 of the basic agreement in conjunction with Article 10. I made it clear to them that such a step could not be taken without agreeing to full way for the sequenced implementation plan" added the Prime Minister of Kosovo.

Kurti directly labeled Lajcak as having lined up on the side of Serbia.

" The European emissary Lajcak is of course not accountable to me as Prime Minister. It is accountable to the European Commission, the European Council and the European Parliament. What I have said in particular recently is more than enough for this accountability, " Kurti said.

The last round of dialogue in Brussels, on September 14, between the president of Serbia, Aleksandër Vucic and the prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, ended without progress in the normalization of relations. This was the first meeting between Vucic and Kurt after the outbreak of violence in the north of Kosovo at the end of May.
