The Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Xhelal Sveçla, said that those responsible for war crimes in Kosovo must be brought to justice. Through a post on social networks, he showed details of the arrest of the Serb in Graçanica, accused of crimes against the civilian population.
Sveçla informs that the arrest took place after a long investigative work, from which sufficient evidence was collected for participation in crimes during the war.
"The participants in the macabre crimes during the war in Kosovo must be held accountable. Regarding the person arrested today in Graçanica, there was a long investigative work, from which sufficient evidence was collected for the existence of the suspicion of participation in crimes during the war. In the capacity of prison warden in Pristina and in the parallel separated from Pristina specifically in Lipjani prison, during that period, in a systematic way, it is suspected that he exercised torture and inhumane violence against Albanian prisoners, in collaboration with other persons.
During the checks conducted and the raid on the suspect's apartment today, illegal weapons were found and confiscated in the person's possession. I congratulate the Kosovo Police for the extraordinary work carried out during the investigations as well as for the arrest. No matter how many years pass, the abuse and torture of those years cannot go unpunished. Those responsible must be brought to justice", writes Xelal Sveçla on Facebook.
