The President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has welcomed the opening of the NATO Tactical Air Base today in Kuçovo, Albania.
In a post on the X platform, she said that this marks an important step in strengthening the Alliance's presence in the Western Balkans, contributing to increasing security in our region and beyond.

Today, the NATO air base in Kuçovo was opened. Defense Minister Niko Peleshi said that this base is an asset, not only for Albania, but for the entire region.
In the ceremony attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama, President Begaj, Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi and diplomats and representatives of the alliance, Peleshi added that the air base will be a strategic point, in the function of NATO in peace operations, but also in dealing with natural disasters.
