German police arrested a Kosovo citizen at Stuttgart airport, who had been convicted of murder.

According to a report by the German News Agency DPA, the 53-year-old was sentenced in 1999 by the Heilbronn State Court to 12 years in prison, and after 5 years was deported to Kosovo.

After a recent trip from Pristina, he was arrested during an airport check and sent to Stuttgart-Stamheim prison, where he will serve the remainder of his sentence.

According to authorities, the 53-year-old must spend another 2,127 days in prison. If he had not re-entered Germany, he would have escaped prison.
