Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that the group that attacked the Kosovo police was financed and supported directly by Belgrade.
In a statement to the media, he said that it is a question of a terrorist and criminal formation, which has planned the attack for a long time.
" The following process will give us more information about who they are, how they entered Kosovo and who gave the order. What we have learned is that it is a question of a terrorist and criminal formation that planned this attack. They do not represent a smuggling gang but a mercenary structure that is politically and financially supported by official Belgrade ," he said.
His statements were made after visiting the family of the deceased policeman, who was shot dead this morning.
" I thank all the citizens who came here to pay their respects to the murdered policeman. We hope that this will be the last case, on the difficult path for law and justice ," Kurti said.
Prime Minister Kurti said that the path of the rule of law, the path of constitutionality and dealing with criminals and terrorists is a path that must be followed by each of us and all together until the final destruction of the state of Kosovo, of our independent Republic.
" The Kosovo Police is the one that informs you from the data from the field, but what is already known is that we have also killed members of that foreign professional, military or police formation that carried out the terrorist attack and cruelly killed Afrimi. We also have wounded, we also have three killed, and also arrested. I believe that the following process will give us more information about who exactly they are, how they entered Kosovo and who are the order givers and conductors of this failed attempt to destabilize the state of Kosovo", said the Prime Minister of Kosovo .
Meanwhile, the Minister of Justice Albulena Haxhiu told the media that the terrorists will face the law.
" I have been in communication with the prosecutor's office to provide support, until now there is institutional cooperation for actions according to the law against criminals ," she stated. Haxhiu emphasized that such acts should not be tolerated.
