The Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Xhelal Sveçla, has given details on the police operation in the north of Kosovo.
The Special Unit entered the monastery where the aggressors who shot at the police were holed up and after several hours of fighting, the situation was brought under control.
Speaking to the media, Xelal Sveçla revealed that an extraordinary amount of heavy weaponry, uniforms, logistics, food, equipment for barricades was discovered during the intervention, as he added that these were equipment for several hundred other attackers. According to him, until now there are 3 aggressors killed and 6 injured.
Therefore, he added that the police are in every corner of the monastery and that the police action in Banjska continues.
" Armed groups attacked our patrol and killed Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku. We also had one official injured and one injured. I express my deepest condolences to the family and relatives of the victim. After that, the response of the police officials was immediate and professional, where for a short time they put the territory under control.
We had another official slightly injured, but the others, thanks to their professionalism, managed to perform the operation without injuries and without other victims. In this case, we have 6 arrested, 2 of them injured, in military uniform. we have at least 3 attackers killed. In this case, the police discovered an extraordinary amount of heavy weapons, uniforms, logistics, food, equipment for barricades and we can freely say that they were equipment for several hundred other attackers.
The police are in every corner of the monastery. There are a number of pilgrims there and it will be investigated to ensure that there are no infiltrators from the attackers ", he said.
