'Political crisis, opposition destructiveness', Kurti: They have

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti today accused opposition parties of boycotting and sabotaging the establishment of new institutions following the February 9 parliamentary elections.

According to him, "opposition destructiveness" is occurring due to jealousy and greed towards Vetëvendosje, as well as non-acceptance of the election results.

Presenting, as he said, the compromises made during the months of political crisis, Kurti declared that "the opposition is neither being pushed nor being lifted."

Almost 6 months have passed since the February 9 elections, and Kosovo has still not managed to establish new institutions.

As of July 27, the Constitutional Court has imposed a temporary measure due to the failure to constitute the ninth legislature by July 26, the deadline set by the first judgment of this court. The temporary measure is valid until August 8.

"Our political entity today has a number of MPs that are more than the second and third combined. As a convincingly winning entity, we have taken on our responsibilities to lead in the establishment of our institutions, both the Assembly and the Government. But the opposition's destructiveness towards the establishment of Kosovo's institutions, which in my opinion has jealousy and greed towards our Movement, is in fact a rejection of the election result of February 9. There is a major opposition contradiction here: for more than four years they have been talking black and white about our good and democratic governance and now they do not want to constitute the Assembly, in order to eventually change this government that we lead," Kurti said.

He stressed that LVV has twice sent invitations for cooperation and co-government to the Democratic League of Kosovo, but the latter has rejected them. Meanwhile, negotiations with Nisma, which has three MPs, have not brought an agreement, as Fatmir Limaj's party's request was for the post of Speaker of the Assembly.

"Beyond this boycott and sabotage that the opposition has been doing to the establishment of institutions for so many months, we have been continuously making proposals and making compromises so that they can be established as soon as possible. As our people say, these people are neither being pushed nor are they being raised. They have not done all this for the state, but for a little power for themselves. They do not have a problem with Albulena, but with the people who did not give them their trust and they have a problem with the LVV that has finally stopped their illegal benefits and private enrichment, extortion to the detriment of the public interest. Four years have been a lot for them, but it is getting worse when they think that this will last even longer. We will not help them in this embarrassment, as we have pledged that this policy will never return," Kurti said.

His statements were made during the official nomination of Hajrulla Çeku as Vetëvendosje's candidate for mayor of Pristina.

"Our energy and attention should be focused on the local elections. Municipalities, but especially the Municipality of Pristina, are extremely important for us to govern. Not just for the sake of governing, but from my experience in central government, I can tell you with full conviction that the political sabotage that was done to our projects from kindergartens to affordable social housing, and thus the deprivation of citizens from benefiting from these projects, is painful," Kurti stressed.
