The LDK will convene its Assembly on January 31st, and the future direction of this political force will be decided. After the disappointing result in the last parliamentary elections in Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku has faced demands for his resignation, while he has stated that his position or not at the head of the LDK will be determined by the forums of this party.
In a recent post on social media, Abdixhiku announced that an important meeting of party members will be held on Saturday to discuss and decide on important party issues.
Abdixhiku said that LDK is not a party that is afraid of its membership and has always made decisions openly and with a majority in the Assembly.
He stressed that this process will make the LDK stronger and more organized, adding that delegates will gather to decide on the future of the party and Kosovo.
"LDK is not a party that is afraid of its membership, nor of votes, nor of competition. It has always made its decisions in the Assembly, among its own people, openly, with debate and without fear; and in the end, by majority. Even in times much more difficult than this.
We will do this again this Saturday.
This Saturday we gather to discuss and decide on all our issues, with free will and with a free vote, as befits a democratic party that respects its membership and no other interest than itself. This is our principle and our way of acting. LDK knows no other way.
It's time now for our membership to speak.
From this process we will emerge stronger, more organized, more functional and more focused on the future of LDK and Kosovo.
"Today I sent the official invitation to the LDK delegates. We will meet on Saturday to decide the direction of our house," Abdixhiku writes.
