The US Embassy in Pristina has reacted regarding the closure of 9 branches of the Post of Serbia in the north of Kosovo.
The embassy's statement states that uncoordinated actions undermine Kosovo's reputation as a reliable international partner while adding that this decision will escalate regional tensions.
The US Embassy also calls for dialogue and normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
"The US government is deeply disappointed by the unilateral and uncoordinated actions taken by the Government of Kosovo towards the Serbian post offices in the north of Kosovo.
Kosovo's uncoordinated actions put Kosovo citizens and KFOR soldiers at greater risk, unnecessarily escalate regional tensions and undermine Kosovo's reputation as a reliable international partner.
We call on the government of Kosovo to cease any further unilateral actions and return to constructive engagement in the EU-facilitated Dialogue to resolve issues related to the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia," it said . in the US response in Kosovo.
