The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has reacted a day after the decision of the Ministry of Industry to suspend the business certificate of Klan Kosova and the many criticisms that this decision has received.
Kurti, through an article on Twitter, said that following the registration rules is a legal duty, not a technical duty.
"Kosovo has 468 registered businesses whose primary activity is media and 114 licensed audio or audiovisual companies. Following the registration rules is a legal duty, not a "technicality", Kurti wrote.
Furthermore, Kurti has responded to the criticisms that have come from within Kosovo and international organizations.
"The application of such rules against a single offender does not threaten media pluralism", Kurti emphasized.
Kurti also added that the competent bodies that decide whether the Kosovo Clan should be closed or not in a democratic country do not reside in the Prime Minister's Office.
"In a democracy, the bodies authorized to decide on such cases do not reside in the Prime Minister's Office. However, these bodies have the full support of our Office in carrying out their duties, in the face of the powerful interests of rich businessmen aligned against them", he added.
