Bad weather is also a problematic situation in Kosovo, where there have also been floods.
In Pristina, several road segments have been filled with water, making vehicle movement difficult.
The announcement from the Municipality of Pristina states that problems may arise with sewage, water accumulation in urban areas, and underpasses.
According to the Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute, over 25 mm of rainfall has been recorded in the capital over the last 24 hours, and rainfall is expected to continue in the coming days with variable intensity.
The regional water utility has announced that due to rainfall and high levels of turbulence in the Ibër-Lepenc canal, water supply will be interrupted in Fushë Kosovë, Drenas, Obiliq and part of the "Kalabria" neighborhood in Pristina.
The rains have also flooded areas in Prizren and Rahovec.
The western regions have been most affected, including Gjakova, Junik, Deçan, Malisheva, Klina, as well as the central part of the country, where several rivers and streams have overflowed their banks.
Currently, the country's main rivers, including the Ibri, Sitnica, Lepenci and Morava e Binçës, have slightly increased water levels.
The National Institute of Public Health has issued a notice to citizens advising them to take increased care for their safety and health:
• There is currently no data on water contamination. However, citizens who are supplied with water from unprotected wells (for reasons of bacteriological safety), are recommended to boil the water before use or to use alternative sources for a safe water supply.
• Store food in safe places and do not consume food that has been in contact with rainwater.
• The most vulnerable groups, including children, the elderly and people with chronic diseases, are recommended to avoid unnecessary movement.
