Prime Minister Albin Kurti has fallen prey to a trap where two famous Russian comedians, Vovan and Lexus, have called him and impersonated the President of Latvia.
In a 10-minute conversation, which is translated below, Kurti accuses Grenell of having a hand in the overthrow of his government in 2020, saying it was the only government to fall during the pandemic.
Kurti also gives his opinion on the protests in Serbia or how the US and the EU should behave towards Ukraine.
Russians: I want to congratulate you on your victory, on your great victory.
Kurti: Thank you very much for the congratulations.
Kurti: This hybrid war against our government at first and mainly from Serbia, but also from Russia, but also from some elements in Kosovo. Hybrid war, disinformation and, secondly, the irrational promises of the opposition. They were kind of flirting with hybrid war. And thirdly there were some oligarchs in our country, especially one of them who owns a television station.
Russians: What do you think about the recent elections, I heard what you said about what's happening with Special Ambassador Grenell.
Kurti: During these four years against me, he was instrumental in toppling my government for the first time in 2020. I was the only government to fall during the pandemic. Now he is aligned with the opposition. He has received significant honors in Belgrade for his work as a diplomat. It is not good to receive such an honor from an authoritarian country and pretend to be neutral. He has a new job now, at the Kennedy Institution, he runs it in the US where he has to make a pact with American values. President Trump set him against LGBT people, you know what I mean. Mr. Grenell is gay himself.
Russia: You know I'm gay?
Russia: I am open, which means I am against it.
Kurti: It was a shock to everyone in the position he was given. Trump announced that he was happy to announce that Grenell will serve as interim executive director at the Kennedy Center.
Russia: For me, the best goal is to shut down Russia.
Kurti: I completely agree because none of us will have peace in Europe with Russia's expansion. We in the Balkans are weak, Moldova is weak. We in the Balkans are not yet part of NATO and we want to become part of NATO as soon as possible. But there are four NATO countries that have not recognized us, Spain, Romania, Slovakia and Greece.
Russia: You know, there are some problems with Slovakia and Fico and some problems in Romania.

Në ukrainë ne kemi një qeveri demokratike dhe ata duhen mbështetur për çdo gjë që kërkojnë. Kjo është ajo që po them. Ne jemi duke blerë armë nga SHBA, Britania, Kroacia, Turqia dhe do të ndërtojmë një fabrikë armësh në Kosovë. Kjo është ajo që do të bëjmë për të prodhuar municione. Ne jemi duke vlerë shumë por gjithashtu duam që të prodhojmë.
Rusi: Po përgatiteni për luftën globale?
Kurti: Po përgatitemi që t’i bashkohemi NATO-s të forcojmë ushtrinë tonë dhe ta bëjmë armikun tonë Serbinë që ta mendojë dy herë përpara se të na sulmojnë sërish. Ata na kanë sulmuar disa herë shekullin e kaluar. Ne duhet të jemi më të fortë.

Russia: What do you think about the protests in Belgrade? I think many people from Western countries are ready to remove Vučić from his post.
Kurti: Yes, but the opposition in Serbia, in the form of a massive student movement, is not receiving support from the EU and the US. They should support them more.
Russia: What is your proposal? How can this equation be solved?
Kurti: The proposal is to get rid of that regime in Serbia that is pro-Russian and for Serbia to recognize Kosovo. Serbia should recognize Kosovo. But there is not enough pressure on Belgrade from the West.
