A police checkpoint at "Three Skyscrapers" in the north of Mitrovica was partially burned by a powerful explosion that is suspected to be a shock bomb.
The media in Kosovo report that fortunately there were no injuries.
The incident happened today around 3:15 am, while at the time of the explosion the policemen were not inside the checkpoint.
In addition to the broken windows, the furniture that was inside was also burned. The author or authors of this incident are still unknown.
The news was also confirmed by the deputy commander of the Kosovo Police for the North region, Veton Elshani. He said that there were no injuries and that material damage was caused.
Elshani also said that shortly before midnight, members of the special unit of the Kosovo Police in the northern part of Mitrovica tried to stop the car driven by a person.
"The driver did not obey the order of the police officers and continued on. The police followed him and found an abandoned vehicle on Sutjeska Street. The car was checked and then the police left the scene", he added.
He emphasized that no one was arrested in that case.
