Former Croatian MP Ante Bačić, who has lobbied for Kosovo in the NATO Assembly, declares that Kosovo passed the biggest difficulty, membership, and is now entering the Euro-Atlantic path.
Invited this Wednesday to Euronews Albania, Bačić says that security in the region is taken seriously by all member countries in NATO, giving Kosovo the status of an associate partner of NATO.
He added that the main NATO countries voted in favor of Kosovo as they consider it a reliable ally.
"I think that all NATO countries, in the parliamentary assembly, take the security situation in the region seriously. Of course, Kosovo has a problem with countries that do not recognize it yet. Of course, there have been objections to Kosovo's membership in international organizations from certain countries, but I think that Kosovo is on the right path, and the main obstacle was precisely the membership. This shows that we can convince the counterparts of other countries that Kosovo has already entered the Euro-Atlantic road, that it is a reliable ally, for this reason the main NATO countries voted in favor of Kosovo's membership in NATO", he said . .
Asked who was the most difficult delegation to support Kosovo, Bačić says that apart from Serbia, which does not have the right to vote, no country is completely against Kosovo.
"Serbia is not a problem because the delegates of Serbia in the NATO assembly do not have the right to vote, so the Croats took their mission to vote for Kosovo. I don't think there are very difficult countries that are very against Kosovo. That's why I wanted to add that Kosovo's membership in NATO is something magnificent", concluded Bačić.
