Just 2 days after the early parliamentary elections in Kosovo, the United States Embassy in Pristina has officially reacted, welcoming the process and expressing readiness to cooperate with the next government.
“ We look forward to working with the next government on shared priorities of regional peace, stability, and mutual economic prosperity ,” an Embassy spokesperson told Klankosova.
This reaction is in stark contrast to the US approach to Albania's parliamentary elections, held on May 11, 2025, where the Socialist Party won its fourth mandate with an absolute majority.
After those elections, the US Embassy in Tirana remained silent for 10 days, issuing a cold response that only congratulated Albanian citizens for participating in the vote, without ever mentioning the government or the result.
In Tirana, this was read as a diplomatic signal, adding to doubts about the moral legitimacy of the electoral process and the standards of freedom of elections.
