The Albanians of Presevo and Bujanova "boycott" the Serbian elections,

In Presevo, out of 43,500 voters, 700 voters have voted so far. While in Bujanoc, 3.7% of citizens voted.

Parliamentary and partial local elections are being held in Serbia. The participation of Albanians in the votes in the Valley of Presheva and Bujanoc is very low.

In Presevo, out of 43,500 voters, 700 voters have voted so far.

While in Bujanoc, 3.7% of citizens voted. This comes as a result of this division, there is a boycott of Albanians in the Presheva Valley. The prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has been accused of siding with Shaip Kamberi, who is now voting in Bujanoc.

The situation in the rest of this country is different. So far there has been a significant turnout of opposition voters.

We remind you that some changes have taken place in Serbia, in the electoral law, which favor ethnic minorities. Clearly, this kind of percentage that remains so small is a reaction to this division. With this participation of opposition voters in Serbia, this means that the Albanians risk not getting any MPs.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Presheva, Shqiprim Arifi, voted for the village of Tërnavë in Presheva this morning. The chairman of the "Albanian Democratic Alternative-United Valley" list stated that a small number of citizens have voted so far for the parliamentary elections in Serbia.

He said that this happens because of the division of Albanians and the competition in two separate lists.

It is a disaster that we see today, we have now spent more than three hours since the polling stations were opened, and what I also warned earlier, that the Albanians already in 2022 they boycotted (the elections), because we were divided. It seems that this year, once again, they seem to be boycotting our division, which we have with two lists in the elections. It's a disaster as you can see, and you yourself have no gathering, it's the same in the other 38 polling stations," declared Arifi.

After the vote, Arifi added that the boycott by the citizens is a bill against the Albanian leadership. According to him, the end of egocentric policies has come in the Presheva Valley.

The holder of the list "Albanian Democratic Alternative - United Valley", is not optimistic that there will be an Albanian representative in the Serbian Parliament.

"The atmosphere is too weak to send a deputy there because it's not the voter's fault, it's our fault, he added himself even though I gave everything to unify, but it's an egocentric policy, which is supported by Kurti two years now and today is the result. You say 10,000 or 11,000, but I also say, depending on the number of people in all of Serbia, maybe the number can be even higher to send a deputy to the parliament, so this seems very unachieved", concluded the mayor of Preševo.

Today, Serbia is holding extraordinary parliamentary elections, where the Albanians of the Presheva Valley compete with two lists.

These are the fourth extraordinary elections since the Serbian Progressive Party came to power in 2012.
