The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has said that Kosovo and Serbia should normalize relations, before the allies start dealing with the elections in the United States of America and the European Union.
In an interview for "Bloomberg" in Slovenia, Kurti said that there is "a sense of urgency to implement the agreement and to normalize the relations between Kosovo and Serbia, with mutual recognition at the center, at the latest until the spring of the year future".
In addition to the urgency of implementing the normalization agreement, Kurti has said that he is also ready for the organization of new municipal elections in the north, according to the agreement reached with the special emissary of the European Union, Miroslav Lajcak.
Kurti is staying in Slovenia for the Bled Forum. The day before, he clashed with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Bernabić. While Kurti has stated that Serbia is not implementing the agreement on the road to normalization, making normalization difficult, Bërnabiq has disputed Kosovo's citizenship. In the panel where the prime ministers of Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, North Macedonia and Bosnia-Herzegovina also participated, Kurti said that Serbia has not changed its approach either to Kosovo or to the EU.
In this forum, the positions of the two states were confirmed once again, which will soon return to the negotiating table, after warnings from the EU that there will be an intensification of the dialogue in September.
