
Syria has recognized the state of Kosovo. The new Syrian President Al Sharaa, who was the leader who led the coup that overthrew Assad, has officially recognized Kosovo as an independent state.
The news was announced by President Vjosa Osmani, who met with her Syrian counterpart through the mediation of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Muhammad bin Salman.
Osmani added that the people of Kosovo and Syria have suffered greatly on their path to freedom and that this is a historic moment for both countries. Kosovo is now recognized by 120 countries.
" With the support of His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud, today in Riyadh we reached an agreement through which the Syrian Arab Republic recognizes the Republic of Kosovo. I thank President Al Sharaa for the decision to recognize Kosovo and for his support for our people."
The people of Kosovo and Syria have suffered and sacrificed much to achieve freedom. Therefore, this mutual recognition today is not only of state sovereignty, but also a recognition of the sacrifice of many generations to live freely.
I thank the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for making this historic act between our two countries possible.
"Kosovo is now recognized by 120 countries. Our republic is moving forward and there is nothing that can stop it! ", writes Osmani.
