The three border patrol policemen who were kidnapped on June 14 by Serbian forces have returned to Kosovo.

They have crossed the border crossing point in Merdar.

The policemen were released in the morning. Their appointed lawyer, Gradimir Nallic, said that the indictment against them has been confirmed, but that they will be protected in freedom.

President Vjosa Osmani said that the release of the three policemen does not release Serbia from responsibility.

"The 3 Kosovo policemen have been released, but this does not release Serbia from responsibility for this flagrant act of aggression against Kosovo and the violation of the Military Technical Agreement with NATO," Osmani wrote on Twitter, thanking the partners and especially the United States.

The government of Kosovo called the handcuffing of the police officers, who, as it was said, were kidnapped while they were on duty, an aggression by Serbia.

The United States, Germany and the United Kingdom had asked Serbia to immediately release the policemen. Albania was also committed to this, as well as the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban.

The arrest by Serbia of three policemen Rifat Zeka, Beqir Sefi and Mustafa Shemi provoked numerous reactions in the international arena that demanded their immediate and unconditional release.
