The secretary at the liaison office of Kosovo in Belgrade, Fatmir Haxholli, has published photos of the three policemen who were detained in Serbia since June 14. The three policemen who were kidnapped in the north have been released today.
The lawyer from Belgrade, Gradimir Nallic, who represented them, confirmed for Radio Free Europe that the policemen's detention has been removed and that "they are being released".
Nallic said that the indictment against them has been confirmed, but that they will be protected in freedom.
He added that the policemen will return to Kosovo and added that it is in the "interest of the clients" not to give more information.
The High Court in Kralev, a city in the central part of Serbia, where the three policemen were being held, also confirmed the termination of the detention measure against them.
Justice in Serbia charged the three police officers with the criminal offense of: production, possession, possession and illegal trafficking of weapons and explosives, which carries a prison sentence of up to 12 years. They were remanded in custody on June 16, but its duration was not clear.
Their arrest prompted numerous reactions both in Kosovo and the international community, which repeatedly demanded their release. The government of Kosovo claimed that they were arrested on its territory, but Serbia denied this.
