The President, Vjosa Osmani, reacted after the release of three policemen kidnapped by Serbia. For this, she thanked the United States of America.
"Let me express my thanks for all the work the USA has done for the release of three Kosovo policemen who were being held hostage," she said.
In his reaction, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, who, although he expresses joy for the good news, still demands that Serbia be reprimanded. He writes that kidnapping is a violation of human rights and Serbia will have to bear responsibility.
After 12 days of being held hostage in Serbian prisons, the Royal Court has released the three policemen kidnapped in the north of Kosovo. Rifat Zeka, Beqir Sefi and Mustafa Shemi will be returned to their families in Kosovo after Serbia claims they committed the criminal offences: production, possession, possession and illegal trafficking of weapons and explosives, which carries a sentence of up to 12 years jail.
