This Tuesday, the protests continued in the three northern municipalities of Kosovo, Zvecan, Leposavic and Zubin Potok, but a small number of protesters was noticed.
Among the protesters are mainly the workers of municipal institutions in the Serbian parallel system.
We recall that yesterday evening, the emissaries of the USA and the EU, Gabriel Escobar and Miroslav Lajcak, repeated the three demands for calming the situation in the north. The first is the escalation of the situation in the north, secondly the elections in these municipalities and thirdly the return to dialogue.
After the 2-hour meeting with Escobar and Lajçak, Albin Kurti expressed his commitment to resolve the situation in the north.
He stated that in order to continue the free and fair elections, the attacks by criminal groups against the special forces must be ended.
"In the meeting with Escobar and Lajcak, I expressed my unreserved commitment to de-escalation. The essential steps forward are an immediate end to attacks on security forces by violent extremists and criminal groups and the role of ensuring free and fair campaigning and elections," Kurti wrote in a reaction on Twitter.
