The Kosovo Prosecution is expected to file official charges today for the murder of Liridona Ademaj in November 2023, a murder organized by her husband Naim Murseli.
Present in the courtroom is Liridona's brother. The prosecutor in the case is Javorka Perlinjkevic, as well as the chief prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office of Pristina, Zejnullah Gashi.
Gashi stated that the murder, which was initially staged as a robbery, was investigated in several dimensions.
"This case was staged as a robbery, thanks to the commitment of the investigators and the prosecutor, we managed to uncover the perpetrators of the criminal offense. It was a sensitive issue and investigations were conducted in many dimensions. We have also secured expertise from abroad. The hearing and judicial review will be open and you will have access," Gashi said in the session.
Prosecutor Perlinqević: Before the start of the conference, I also spoke with representatives of the Ademaj family. I believe that many journalists have been involved since the moment the case occurred. It is clear to all of you that the case has been reported as a robbery. Police investigators Nazim Haliti and Ibrahim Sahiti will address you.
Investigator Nazim Dalipi: Regarding the case that happened that day, we saw that something presented as a robbery had us as investigators and we continued to collect evidence. It turned out that Naimi and two others were involved. We also collected evidence in Pristina and Gjakova.
Prosecutor: The material evidence in this incident was collected very quickly and in a short time we collected it. What was missing was the motive that pushed Naim Murseli to order the murder of Liridona Ademaj. We used the international assistance from the Kingdom of Sweden and for this reason we asked the Swedish authorities to send us data about their family life. We received answers to the questions we sent there and then we were able to have a complete picture of the incident.
And with all the motive that pushed Naim Murseli to eliminate Liridona. Until we have accepted these and until we have a clear picture, we have not been able to continue. We have come to the motive why Naim Murseli wanted the murder of Liridona Ademaj, which also included the son of the aunt Kushtrim Kokalë and Granit Plava who is the physical perpetrator of the criminal offense.
How did the incident happen?
